Borwickfishing is siutated close to Junction 35a of the M6 not far from Carnforth
This 9 water coarse fishing facility has a Gold level accreditation and diverse selection of fish including the Wels Cat Fish. The 30 acre gravel pit site was created in order to excavate raw materials to build the M6 motorway. Over last 14 or so years the site had been remodelled to create 9 individual waters with an array of fish and features in each.
Just three of the waters are listed here, the other 6 can be found on the website.
- Jimmy’s Lake – 15 acres of specimen fishing including Carp to 40lb, Pike and Catfish over 30lb, Grass Carp over 20lb, plus double figure Tench, Eels over 6lb and Roach to 3lb.
- Little Brooker – 1/2 acre ornamental pool containing amongst others Ghost and Koi Carp to 15lb, Golden Tench to 5lb, Golden Rudd, Golden Orfe and Crucian carp.
- The Last Blast – another 1/2 acre pool with Catfish, Grass Carp, Mirrors and Commons all into double figures.
The site features some good facilities including a Cafe, Take Away, Tackle Shop and Toilets. Open daily from 7am in Summer and 8am in the Winter, with the exception of Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
Another bonus is Borwickfishing offers dry, hard standing pegs, paths and car parks at all lakes and has pegs suitable for disable access.
