Not so long ago on a bright summer evening I had a wander round Viridor Walking Woods – Central. This walk although it would describe it more as a quick dash with the dog between monsoon rain, begins in the same car park but continues across the road.
In the post for the central walk I covered Coffin Wood and Coffin Lane. This little potter takes you down what’s left of Coffin Lane, an arrow straight track with a beech tree at one end. I’m not sure but there does seem to be a kind of spiritual feeling to the lane, almost mysteriously peaceful, or maybe that was just my mind playing games.
There isn’t much to see at all on this side of the road, but I did notice more picnic benches than I have ever seen, one almost at every turn for some reason. Maybe they’re there for bird watchers or who knows late night ghost hunters 😉
All the same for a quick dash around an almost mile long loop it’s not bad, good under foot even after monsoons!
One thing to be careful of is the entrance is on a bad bend, take extra care especially when crossing back to the car park.
